There was no feel good moment where you finally figure it out and beat something you were stuck on. I didn't really feel like I accomplished anything by beating it the first time since you can win with basically anything. When you play an easier prestige you're not punished for making the wrong choices so it's really easy to make it through all 5 days and see all of the content for each character on just 2-3 playthroughs. I'm on prestige 4 and I feel like this is probably where the starting difficulty should be. ![]() The way to make the game more difficult is to turn on "Mutators" which is a generally unfun concept because it falsely increases the difficulty by removing options available to the player. The quests are very limited and once you know the optimal dialog it becomes a walk in the park. The rogue-like aspect feels close to the vanilla release of Faster Than Light but way easier. A deckbuilding roguelike with stories and excellent rippling consequences, hooked up to two underwhelming card games. There should be an option to turn off dialog for quests you've already done. It's way more dialog heavy than StS and FTL which makes replayability more of a grind. In the current state, it probably has about 40 hours of game-play. But that can be chalked up to still being in alpha. I like the games from Klei entertainment, and I think when this. Griftlands is fun and I have been playing it a lot. Meaning if you get bored with the main 4 characters, you have a lot of new content to DL for free. It is already on full release, and the mod community is pretty active. ![]() The only thing where it doesn't compare as well is replayability. If you are going to buy only 1 game, I would recommend StS. The card upgrade mechanics are great and the game-play is great. It's Slay the Spire, and FTL with hints of Idle Heros. There is not a better game you can buy for $5.
